June was an exciting month as I was in Vancouver and witnessed firsthand the riot. As my hotel was in the middle, I had a view over the city, watching columns of smoke rise above it, fires, explosions, helicopters, and looting. It was a very disturbing experience in a city so beautiful and vibrant. Perhaps it resonated more as it was not that long ago we witnessed similar scenes in Toronto.
